Scott and Sam weekdays from 2-7pm
About Scott…
Scott’s Background: “My mom, Linda, a teacher, was an amazing single mom, who raised my little brother, sister and me. I spent a lot of time after school in her classroom helping with bulletin boards and getting to know the other teachers and her students. It was a challenging to be raised without a dad, except for a God rescue… seriously, I’d be in prison, addicted, or dead from loving fast cars.”
Scott’s Family: “My beautiful bride, Susan, is so solid. Haha, I married way over my head; she really took mercy on me (or something). She’s a certified teacher, who used her college education to homeschool our 4 children (Wow, honey, have you considered the pay?!). If we’ve done anything well, it’s having dinner together, sharing the day’s highs and lows & reading inspirational stories to the kids. Two of our children are in college, and Jett, our long-haired dachshund is the final member of the pack. Oh, saving the best for last, my oldest daughter, Whitney and her husband, have given us grandchildren! Everything people have told you about how great they are is true! If God uses children to take off our rough edges, he uses Grandchildren to hide our imperfections in sweetness!”
Scott’s Hobbies: “Favorite authors include CS Lewis, GK Chesterton, AW Tozer and J.R.R. Tolkien. In raising our children, I’ve been a Scout Master, Sunday School teacher, coach and mostly transporter and spectator of their sporting events. Oh, and I have a passion for coffee … mmmm. Arabica, free-range, certified-organic, fair trade coffee – C’mon, I’d love to share some of my hand-ground, induction brewed coffee with you!”
About Sam…
“Does it seem like the hardest things in life are also the best ones? About five years ago my husband Carlos and I had a little girl. She was born with Down Syndrome and had seizures for most of her first year of life. We spent hours in the hospital, tired and scared, always wondering if the next treatment would work. She began to heal after a women’s Christmas dinner event where 300 women prayed for her. Since then, we’ve seen what a gift God gave us in Zoe. She delights in life, prays often and is a painter with some pretty amazing talent (if you want to see her art and story, zoeheart.org) Our faith is so strong now. We know on this earth there will be hard times. We know the answer. His name is Jesus.”
“Scott and I are so grateful to join the team at The FISH LA. We love the music and have been fans for years.”
Favorite food: Triple Ginger snaps from Trader Joes. Enough said.
Favorite Artists: David Crowder, Mandisa, Toby Mac
Cool side job: I’m the voice of Princess Peach and Toad in Nintendo’s Mario Kart games
Favorite stuff to do: When you are the parent of a little kid everything changes. I used to love reading a whole book in a weekend. Now I read three pages and am knocked out. I haven’t had a haircut in half a year. A romantic moment is holding hands with my honey across a Pooh Bear blanket. My latest profound quote: “Don’t put that in your mouth!!!”
Wouldn’t change a thing.
